Big Courage comes in Small Packages

Posted by Intuition Girl

In Aesop’s Fables, there is a story about a mouse and a lion. As the story goes, a mouse is nearly eaten by a lion but the mouse begs the lion to spare his life as one day he may come to save his. The lion laughed so hard at the little mouse’s pleas that he inadvertently freed the mouse from his claws. Taking advantage of the opportunity to escape, the mouse ran far away. One day, hunter’s nets ensnared the lion and following through on his promise, the little mouse came to the lion’s rescue and freed him from the trappings. There is a lesson to be learned in this story in that big courage can sometimes come in small packages.

When we are teaching our children of such heroism, we offer them examples of how they can sometimes contribute to help others around them by just being thoughtful and tolerant. It is also a lesson in learning how to appropriately use the gifts we are given. We may not always be the biggest or the strongest, but if we learn how to use the gifts we do have, we can often create the desired outcomes that we want.

Exhibiting courage under fire

In life, you will face obstacles that make you feel uncomfortable at best, miserable at worst – how you react to those situations is what will give you the edge in being able to successfully combat and conquer these situations. Remembering the story of the lion and the mouse can offer some consolation, but learning how to proactively take control of your emotions and the reactive feelings that you have when faced with dire consequences will become your best friend. Demonstrating these reactions affront of your children will also show them how to properly react as they grow older and too, are faced with similar circumstances.

This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine!

Even children can let their light shine. They can be taught that the greatest courage comes from the tiniest light within self. It is that inner strength that one possesses that is available to him or her at all times whenever s/he needs it. All one must do is to ask to be brave in order to contend with whatever the challenge is. By instructing heart and soul in how to pool your innate resources to move beyond such obstacles, you will build your resilience and stamina to overcome that, which obstructs. While you may feel small in size, you must understand that your heart and soul hold the power to create the happiness and sense of achievement

throughout the course of your life. When you are ready to take the lead and show your power, I know you will feel a joyful release and a wonderful sense of freedom. You will also discover that you have the power to control your emotions and hold them in check as you move forward in life. No other human being or circumstance has that power or control over you – and when you see that through courage and willpower all things are possible, you will let your light shine and grow in strength and harmony each and every day.

In the end, it is helpful to know that we do not always have to be as mighty as the lion to be brave. We can overcome anything by being witty and committed to take on the world even when things do not seem to be going the way we like. The truth lies within our perception, and the willingness to follow through comes from our persistence and perseverance; of course, a little courage doesn’t hurt.

Until we speak again, I am

Once upon a Dream

Posted by Intuition Girl

Imagine running a relay race. The odds are stacked against you but you are fit – mind, body and spirit. Just before the race, your heart is pumping and you are so focused on the goal that you are not going to let anyone or anything deter you. Some of your competition might even be faster than you, but you have the focus and discipline to take the right moves to get to where you need to be. No matter what, you are going to pass that baton and win the race. You are so ready that you can taste the sweetness of victory. Now see yourself running in the race. You are going full stride — the only thing you can hear are the pounding of your feet hitting the earth below you and your breath. Suddenly you trip and fall. What do you do next?

Quitters never win, and winners never quit…

Why is it just when we have our dreams within grasp, we allow small hurdles to stop us from reaching out and grabbing what is rightfully ours? If you have worked hard, laid the foundation for your success, and can see it in the near distance, then you must pursue it. That means you have to pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and keep on going. Keep your heart, mind and spirit focused on the end goal and never allow challenges to spoil the day. When you believe in yourself, anything is possible.

“I just can’t do it”…

Does that sound all too familiar? Do you constantly tell yourself that you just can’t do it? Are you simply “existing” in life or are you embracing every ounce of life with passion and courage? If you are so caught up in the routine of “existence” and nothing else, then for what are you living? There is never a “perfect time” or “perfect place” for dreams to come true. The dreams we perceive in our mind’s eye are the dreams that we must create and manifest in our own realities.

For a moment, I want you to focus on this sentence: ” You are so ready that you can taste the sweetness of victory.” Did you know that you were born ready to succeed? Yes, you are. Do not give in so easily. There is no time like the present time to make good on life’s promise that guarantees you success if you truly want it. Give yourself the room in your life to get back on track to feed that burning fire inside you — the passion to achieve greatness and to lead a joy-filled life. After all, you are the keeper of your dreams. Do not waste those dreams on challenges and feelings of defeat. You must always rise to meet the challenge, overcome it, and win the day. Don’t let a small trip-up to stop you!

Regain your Inner Power

Posted by Intuition Girl

Have you ever strolled along the beach and spied a treasure hunter with his metal detector? It is kind of funny when you think of it. After all, what are the chances that someone will actually find a huge hidden treasure? In fact, more often than not, the treasure seeker may just be lucky enough to find a few priceless coins or perhaps a valuable piece of fine jewelry. I imagine that half the fun is in the searching!

Well, looking for hidden treasure on the seashore is kind of like taking responsibility for where you are right now. You know that deep down inside of you there is a hidden treasure just waiting to be rediscovered. But you repeatedly allow your problems or misfortunes to overpower you and control your life. If you want to take command of the situation and garner real resolve, you must take hold of that inner treasure detector and uncover the courage, wisdom, strength and passion to attain what it is you are seeking in life. Whatever you choose to do, never give up — it is there waiting for you to uncover it.

Some ideas…

  • Sometimes it is important for you to find a mentor or role model that you can model yourself after. Who is it that you admire or with whom you feel a certain kinship? Perhaps that individual could be your sister, your uncle, a favorite sports player or a local firefighter.
  • You can also ask your guardian angels to support and help you. In doing so, you will not give up so easily.
  • Breathe. At times you may become so consumed with your trials that you forget to breathe. Take a deep breath and feel the warmth of the sun flowing in you, through you and into every cell of your body. Now let it all go. Just let all the anger, resentment, fear and anguish pour out of your body like a waterfall. No longer is it damming your energy flow.
  • Visualization. Imagine yourself strolling on a beach. The waves are beating oh so slightly against the sand beneath your feet. Feel the wet grains of sand between your toes. Hear the seagulls in the distance. The sky is blue and the only thing between you and the ocean is a gentle breeze that continues to envelop your body. Doesn’t it feel good?

There is no better time than the present moment to recapture your inner power and take back the control from all the challenges that are presenting themselves to you. Just like the tide, events in your life will come and go – how you choose to react to those events is entirely up to you!

Don’t eat the yellow snow! Winter tips for creative living

Posted by Intuition Girl

Remember when we were little and the older kids would tell us that we shouldn’t eat the yellow snow? Sometimes, the older we get, the wiser we get. That — and experience tells us what we should and shouldn’t do for our own sake and our own health. But there’s always that one individual that no matter how many times he’s been told to not do something, he does it anyway. Every time that individual repeats his actions, he beats his head against the wall and wonders why he did it again.

Don’t eat the yellow snow! It’s right there in front of you. You’ve been advised not to eat it. Yet you continue to eat it again and again. That’s kind of what happens when you keep repeating the same actions to acquire a different result. Stop it!

In order to achieve the best possible outcome, (besides not eating the yellow snow) one must take a long look at how she’s approaching her challenges and go beyond the norm, and go beyond the measures that she’s taken in the past. Sometimes, we have to tackle the one problem we have with different insights and ideas. It’s not that difficult; especially if you’ve digested some rather unsavory ramifications time and time again.

Winter tips for creative living

Intuition and Meditation:

Use your intuition and experience to work for you and not against you. If you’ve battled the same battles, then you’re not in the right mindset. That means that whatever thoughts are spinning in your head must be tossed to the wayside. Start fresh. Start thinking power and empowerment. Don’t become your worst own enemy by continuing to do the same negative things to achieve success and wealth in your life. Look back at your life and see what has worked and what has not worked. Hold that thought. Now, take a deep breath and relax your mind totally. Ask yourself, “What can I do to attain_____?” (Fill in the blank.) Take another breath. Close your eyes and imagine beyond all that you’ve ever thought about in your life. Go deeper. Deeper still. Where are you in your mind? What windows of opportunity do you see affront of you? Do you see any ideas that can help you achieve what it is you want to reach? If you’re not seeing them, you’re missing the ball. You have got to get right with your mind, your body, and your spirit in order to balance the creative flow and energy in your life…and in your livelihood. You don’t have to go through life eating the yellow snow and hoping it’ll taste better the next time around. You are ready to move beyond that spot, and move forward to play and enjoy the beauty and wonder of winter (and your life) to build that igloo, build that snowman, or just to frolic in the white powdery crystals that grace our view.

Listen to your inner child

Winter is the season of reflection. It is during this time that most of us take time to muse at the wonders and events of our childhoods, our relationships, our dreams, our hopes, and our futures. Now is the perfect time to grab the reigns of your sleigh, set a course for adventure, and take in the beauty that is life and what it has to offer us. You are a part of that integral fabric of nature that makes this world a much more beautiful place to be…and what you do in this life can affect your destiny in a number of positive (and negative) ways. Isn’t it time, you listened to your inner voice… your inner child to retrieve the magic of what it means to be alive and to simply be here at this moment? When you’ve taken the steps to reflect in meditation and thoughtfulness, you will rediscover that magical feeling again. And when you do, you are on the right path toward overcoming mistakes of the past to create a bright new future for yourself and for the ones you love.

Fire dancing

Ever watched a flame in your fireplace? The flames dance in rhythmic and hypnotic sync. You can hear the wooden logs crackling and hissing as the flames grow. There’s a whole lot of energy in that fireplace. So much energy, that you can feel its warmth and vibration. That’s how you need to mold your mind. Create a spark of fire in your mind and keep the flame ignited with intuitive thinking and insightful thoughts on how to move forward every step of the way. You might still run into some hiccups but that’s okay. We all do. The important thing to remember is to always keep your flame alive, and never let it be diminished by negative thinking or by re-hashing the same mistakes of the past.

PS. Please don’t eat the yellow snow

Are your emotions running your life?

Posted by Intuition Girl

joyWhat brings you joy? Imagine if everyday you focused for a few minutes on remembering a “joyful moment”. What do you think this would do for you? How do you think you would start to feel if you kept this up on a continual basis? This one simple tool alone will help you out of a great deal of stress and anxiety and of course it will definitely help keep you in balance.

What brings me great joy is when clients share with me how happy they are working with me. It is such a gift for me to hear from someone that I have helped them make major shifts in their life in less than 5 weeks. But when I encounter anxious moments, I close my eyes and see with my heart.

I was speaking with a dear friend recently and we were talking about how much “courage” it takes to clean your emotional house. I certainly agree. It is not easy to see and then release your past experiences; however, the freedom that you will gain is priceless.

As we are preparing for 2010 some of us are getting ready in a conscious deliberate way while others are just going along in life and accepting what comes our way as if we are dragging a heavy weight on our shoulders. We must make a decision– what are you doing to prepare for your life today and in the future? Remember we have free will!

Living your present moments in a joy-filled experience will heal you and I might add is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself. As this year is beginning to come to an end and a new decade is dawning, I hope you will take control of your emotions and choose the feelings that you want to experience.

Please read on to my two new questions this week from my readers, Heather and Samantha.

Many Blessings,
