FACEBOOK LIVE CHAT on Focus on You

Helping you understand how to focus better on you and to understand how to read a sign

Groundhog Day is infamous for the rascally critter’s prediction as to whether or not we are going to have six more weeks of winter. If he sees his shadow and runs inside, get ready for more cold…but if he does not, then warmer weather is on the way! Do you believe in signs? If you do, then you are not alone. In fact thousands of people every day see, hear, read or dream something that they believe to be a sign in their lives. Sometimes people receive these signals as signs of prosperity while others fear them to be ominous ones.  Have you ever gotten a message or some inkling that something is awry or maybe you get a powerful gut feeling about something or someone? Do you follow signs to help you get somewhere and is it actually leading you in the wrong direction?

Wednesday, February 2nd, I will be hosting a LIVE Facebook Chat on my group “Focus on You

9pm EST/6pm PST

Are you going to be there? I will be taking questions about the signals you have encountered in your life and how to use those signs to your best advantage. The “Focus on You” group is open to all Facebook members. I hope you will join me there! Click here to visit and join the group  FOCUS on YOU

Holding on and Letting go

Posted by Intuition Girl

Throughout my tenure as an intuitive life coach, I have encountered numerous clients who have difficulties letting go of the heavy baggage that tends to hinder their progress; and more importantly, their overall happiness in life. Sometimes, it is easier to hold onto what we are used to experiencing in our lives. We grow complacent in believing that the emotions we are lugging around with us…bitterness, regret, anger, resentment, fear… are a natural aspect of our living. We begin to think that without these emotions, we would not be who we are; therefore, we painstakingly latch onto these feelings to keep our spirit fired up. That is the misconception, however. As long as we are holding onto these emotions (that do not serve our purpose), we are extinguishing our proverbial fire within our spirits. We are unintentionally draining our life-force and creating a black hole instead of a bright, shining flame.

You need a bright flame to attract all the positive things you want in life, and the only way to reignite that fire in your spirit, is to clear the space from all the empty and negative feelings that have become permanent place-holders in your life. When you think about it, do you really need to continue feeling angry or fearful? What purpose is it serving? Besides keeping you angry or scared, what are you personally getting out of these feelings? Do they improve your day-to-day life? Do they make you feel empowered? No. Each day that you hold onto these unforgiving emotions, is yet another day that you are stripping your own power away from you. In fact, you are giving away your personal empowerment to these feelings every time you succumb to them. It’s not worth it. Believe me — in the long run, you are better off forgiving yourself and letting go of all the past baggage you’ve been harboring in your life.

What’s in a word? Let’s begin with the word, “forgiveness“. To many, it means forgiving others for past mistakes or hurts. In truth, forgiveness begins with you. One cannot forgive another until he has forgiven himself first. It takes genuine effort and a big dose of humility to forgive others, but it takes an even stronger individual to look into the mirror and say: “I forgive you. I forgive you for all the anger you have had in your life. I forgive you for all the emptiness you have felt. I forgive you for all the regrets that you have had. I forgive you for not loving yourself enough.” That is a lot to say to yourself, but perhaps you have just one or two things you need to say to clear the air. A lot of times, the simple act of forgiving yourself aloud gives you the opening to releasing the emotional baggage in your life.  Breathe. It’s okay.

Once you have opened the door to positivity and potentiality in your life by letting go of past hurts and regrets, your internal flame that ignites your spirit with the Universal flow of energy will begin to shine brighter and stronger. So much so, that suddenly you begin to feel alive again. You begin to feel empowered and ready to take on the world each and every day with a renewed sense of passion and vigor. Your spirit does not want to have its life-force extinguished. It is begging you to stop holding onto the animosity and sorrow… stop holding onto the disappointments and worry… stop holding onto the fear. It is time to let go …just let it go. Breathe. Look into the mirror right now and tell yourself: “I forgive you.” There. Doesn’t that already feel better? Can’t you begin to feel the emotional baggage from your past being released from your spirit? It has been a heavy load to carry, hasn’t it? Now is the time for you to let it go. Let it all go.

I would love to work with you and help you to clear the space for a new and improved you. Together, we can meet your life challenges with the right intuitive ingredients to create the success and happiness your heart desires. Drop me a line today and let me help you reignite your life force with the passion and greatness that you deserve!

Are your Goals accompanied with a Consistent Labor of Love?

Posted by Intuition Girl

What actions have you determined are necessities in your life to keep you on track? If you’re pining for the straight and narrow path to success, then you must know that in order to achieve the affluence you so desire, you must love yourself first and be consistent in every one of your efforts. A few questions you must ask yourself are:

1.  What is it that I really want in life?

2.  How am I going to acquire these wants?

3.  How much passion am I going to put behind my goals?

4.  What steps do I need to take in order to achieve these goals?

5.  How much time am I willing to take to get the things I want?

After you’ve considered these questions, I want you to take out a pen and paper, your laptop keyboard, or whatever else you have at your disposal and begin to jot down ideas and thoughts resolving these questions.

Sometimes, we have to make small sacrifices to create a clear passage to the lives we want to lead. While we might like owning that high-maintenance SUV; the payments might be killing us financially. Or, we’ve put several years’ time into a work position only to stay in the same spot. Are you staying in a negative personal relationship because you’ve become accustomed to arguing? Have you seen the writing on the wall? That doesn’t mean you should allow your vehicle to get repossessed, that you should walk out of your relationship, or just outright quit your job because you’re not going anywhere. What it does mean is that you need to re-evaluate your state of affairs, and start using the tools that are available to you to make the best out of a lagging or negative situation. You are, after all, in control of your emotions and your actions. You cannot control the people around you. But you can control yourself…or better said, you can become the leader of your life.

That being said, you must determine the necessary actions and efforts to keep your life on track. For example, if you are in a “terrible job”, you need to ask yourself if it is in fact the job that is terrible, or is it the feelings that you associate with the job that give it the appearance of being terrible. When you figure that out, that’s when you can decide what path you need to take in order to acquire a better position…or perhaps, become an entrepreneur in your own field to create real value in your life. The same holds true in relationships – both personal and professional. Relationships, just like working positions, take time, sacrifice, effort, labor, love, and communication skills. What are you doing in your life to heighten your potential and efficacy in creating and sustaining healthy bonds? And this is also spot on with professional relationships – how do you view the work you do? Would you “hire you” again? Would you want “you” working for yourself?  Think about it. Are you creating your own problems at work?

Beyond work and personal relationships, finances (or lack thereof) often take center stage on the emotional baggage train. Do any of these hypothetical statements apply to you?

“I can’t go to the gym because I can’t afford it.”

“I can’t take a vacation because I don’t have the money.”

“I’d love to take you to that restaurant, but it’s too expensive.”

“How I wish I could buy a house, but times are tough.”

“How can Jim (or fill in the blank) afford such a nice car?”

“I’d like to have children, but I can barely afford to pay my own bills.”

“I’m just not lucky like that other guy.”

More than likely, we’ve all encountered one or more of the above situations. It’s uncomfortable, too. Especially when someone asks you to accompany him (or her) and you begin concocting lame excuses as to why you can’t go. And envy is even worse. No matter how successful we become in life, someone, somewhere is going to have something bigger, better, and more expensive than you. That’s a fact. But, the good news is that you don’t have to “keep up with the Jones.” You just have to keep up with yourself – that’s it. Every action has an equal reaction. For instance, if you have made the active decision to pursue a higher position at work, what must you do to attain it? If you simply “want” the position, and do nothing to acquire it, then you will remain exactly where you are. Wanting something and doing something for that matter are two entirely different means to an end: one is inaction (indecision) and the other is action (decision). How is your supervisor going to know that you want a particular position? She can’t always read your mind. Likewise, if you’ve been performing “just enough” or “not enough” at work, do you really deserve the position?

Do you have what it takes? Yes! Almost every individual has the mental, physical, emotional, and psychological capacity to achieve their hearts’ desires; unfortunately, they don’t always do it because of indecision, inaction, and complacency. We get comfortable in all of our relationships, much like we do in our own tennis shoes. We tend to overlook the holes, the wear and tear, the rips, the shredded laces…because they feel good on our feet and we are accustomed to them. Eventually, our feet get soaked from the mud puddles that we sometimes have to walk through.  Even track stars have to change shoes every now and then. Like it or not, we have to toss the old shoes and buy new ones that fit us, and that fit the paths on which we walk. Which path do you choose to walk upon? What sacrifices are you willing to make to create forward motion? What choices are you making for you today to promise a wealthy and happy tomorrow? What do you need to let go of so you can make room for the new experiences to come into your life?

If you’re still not sure how to stay focused and keep your life on track, but are willing to commit yourself to recharging your life and re-energizing your authentic self to become the person you want to be, then I invite you to participate in my upcoming Program so you can learn how to tap into your Intuitive Powers. During these 9 weeks, I’ll teach you how to be self-sustaining and self-empowering. And I’ll show you how to use your intuition and sheer determination to transform your lifestyle into the extraordinary one that I know you can achieve. Make the right choice for your future today!

Straight Talk with Joan Marie: How do we forgive and achieve emotional freedom?

Posted by Intuition Girl

QUESTION #2

Dear Joan Marie:

There is so much talk about bullying in the media and the news. Many young people are feeling left out, lost and often lonely because they do not feel connected to their peers or their environment. Fear, embarrassment and hurtful feelings often surface because of it.

Overcoming lonliness I have felt those emotions during my youth but I never put a name to them. In fact, because I felt so alone and not understood, I spent a great deal of my time avoiding interaction with others because I didn’t know how to fit in. Even my siblings looked at me strangely and I often resented their insensitivity to me.

That isolation has caused me great sadness over the years but now I have a better understanding of who I am. I now realize that I do have something special to offer others and the world but I have not released those feelings of sadness, resentment and lack.

My question is how do I begin to forgive and release those emotions so I can finally live a life of freedom?
I look forward to hearing from you. Mary Ellen R.

ANSWER #2

Dear Mary Ellen:

Your question is timely— this is why I decided to have my new 5-Week Program that is going on right now and it is completely on the topic of forgiveness.

Too often people misunderstand what forgiveness means and mostly they do not envision its benefits and value to self–the one who is doing the forgiving.

I consider the act of forgiveness as a purging of the old from your mind so that you can cleanse and rid yourself of all toxic and poisonous thoughts and feelings that are stopping your completeness.

Once you become aware that your distress and the re-run of your old story is coming from hurt feelings, thoughts and bottled up emotions from the past not from suffering or pain that you are experiencing today, you will begin to move towards your personal healing. Forgiveness breaks the cycle of anger, resentment and isolation and it helps you enjoy the peace and contentment that lingers long after the act of letting-go has begun.

Power of Forgiveness Program with Joan Marie WhelanThe first step in the process is in making a choice. It is clear to me that you have done that by reaching out to me. I actually have a single CD on forgiveness that has a powerful meditation that will help you release and heal and I also have a 3-CD series that takes you through a process. Both tools I highly recommend.

Many Blessings to you on your journey,

Joan Marie, the Gift

Straight Talk with Joan Marie: Must we carry our past life issues with us?

Posted by Intuition Girl

QUESTION #1

Floating stones in heavenIf we pass on to the next dimension i.e., “heaven,” then why aren’t we able to “clear” away past life issues over there on the other side instead of taking them with us into this current life time?

Thanks!

Jo Ann
Huntington, New York

ANSWER #1

Dear Jo Ann:

Zen waterfallThis is a great question. When we die it does not mean our problems go away; in fact, it is quite the contrary. In the other realm, we actually continue with the same problems or situations that we left off with on the earthly plane. It would be helpful for each one of us to understand that our past experiences dissolve only when we have recognized them and learned how to accept and deal with them. We all must understand when we come back to earth or when we die the only thing that changes is the location of where our energy is placed. What this means is when we come back to earth we are here to heal our soul, cleanse our energy field and continue to learn and grow. The key for all of us is to purify our soul and this happens when we truly understand who we are. So many of us come back over and over again with the same issues or problems because we haven’t discovered how to identify with or heal from them. When the light is revealed and we finally get it we are better prepared to create differently.

One life lesson for you may even be courage to accept your true purpose—to fulfill your soul’s destiny of being a healer and teacher. I feel that in the past you did not have the support to do this and now you have come back to stand tall, walk forward and fulfill your destiny.

I hope all of this makes sense.

Many Blessings,

Joan Marie, the Gift
