The Power of Women coming together

If you have found your way to Joan Marie’s website/newsletter than you will probably understand my story. I have been on a journey – a search for who I am – for the past twenty years, most of my adult life. I was consumed by self-doubt, confusion, pain and unhappiness. I have studied, listened to lectures, been to therapy, counseled with friends, read the works of many great minds, and while it all has helped — I still felt an emptiness that has affected everything in my life. To feel so lost, yet putting on a smile and going through the motions as a wife and mother of two, was wearing me out and down. I felt like I was drowning AND asleep at the wheel. But even at my lowest, I always knew there was something more in me and that I had so much more to give. So, as I’m finding out how life works, when I was finally in a place when I was ready for it, the Universe spoke to me. I was introduced to Joan Marie by a friend of mine, who I don’t see very often. We met for coffee one morning and I noticed a change about her, a peacefulness I hadn’t seen before. Of course I had to ask, and she told me all about Joan Marie and her programs.
Needless to say, I felt in my friend something that I wanted and needed for myself, and coincidentally, a 6 month group program was about to begin the next week. Talk about the Universe speaking to me fast and furiously! This time, I finally chose to listen. So, very uncharacteristically of me, I jumped in before I had a chance to “think” my way out of it. One conversation with Joan Marie assured me that I was ready for this (well, I still had a ton of doubts, but I ignored them!). I have not regretted it since. I am in a group program with several other people and it has changed my life. Its like getting all my life lessons rolled into one — but in a very powerful group dynamic. Its unlike anything I have ever experienced before. As we are still in the process of it, I cannot tell you how this story “ends”, but I can tell you that my life is finally beginning. Joan Marie’s wisdom, powerful intuition and vibrational energy/life force has worked to “raise” me again. Properly, this time, with love and compassion. And she’s no push over either – she tells it to you straight (from the Universe!) – which I love and appreciate! With the help of her equally powerful mom, we affectionally call, Joan Marie Mom, and the others, I feel like I am finally getting the proper guidance to do the real work I need to do to heal my inner wounds and break open to the real me and become the woman that I am meant to be. It has been a miracle. There is no other way of saying it. To touch and unravel a heart that has been as tight and closed as mine, is a miracle. And I thank God, the Universe, my friend, my Self, for leading me to Joan Marie Whelan. As I tell my group/my family, I am a very grateful work in progress and I am feeling more alive than I have ever felt in my life.

I have done some private work with Joan Marie and most recently completed her 3 month bridging class. When she mentioned that she would like to do another 3 month program for women, I knew immediately without question that I would be a part of it. This lead me to ask myself, ” Why? Why am I so quick to make this decision and what are the measurable differences that have occurred in my life, that make my decision so strong?”
Before our bridging class, I was living (barely) paycheck to paycheck, running my own business and as a single mom with two children I felt like I was running myself into the ground physically and emotionally. The pattern of abuse that had been set in my childhood was repeated in my marriage and was still being carried out daily because it was what I thought I deserved for myself. The emotional blocks that I saw as my “comfort zone” we’re keeping me paralyzed with fear and stuck in stagnation and mediocrity; meanwhile I was not fully aware of WHY I felt so tired and stuck all the time.
Joan Marie has helped me identify the patterns of my life and their origins, releasing them without blame and shame. She has taught me the power of manifestation and being effective with my feelings. In the last two months my business has almost doubled, I’ve secured the home I’ve been wanting for years and I have grown to love who I am as a person, more then I thought possible.
Looking back on my life a year ago, I am so proud of how far I’ve come. The more I learn, the more I’m aware that I have so much more to learn. This has been the hardest work I’ve ever done and I’m thankful to have Joan Marie leading me in the process. She has been my north star when I had no sense of direction.

Finding Your Niche

Has anyone ever asked you if you have discovered your niche? Since I was very young, I knew that one day I would be using my intuitive gifts to help others in life. That has been my niche from that time onto this very day. Once you realize what your niche is, it is like being a child who first learns how to link the alphabet together to form words. It is an awesome feeling finally being able to unfold the treasure that you have had available to you all along but were not quite sure what it all meant or how to successfully use it.
The same holds true to those of you who have struggled throughout your life because of missed opportunities. You work hard day in and day out; and by the end of the year, you look back and wonder where all your money has gone, where the time has gone or perhaps why things keep happening to you over and over again. I promise that misfortune is not out to get you. What is happening, however, is the fact that you have locked away your niche and are not using it to your best potentiality. A good example of that is in one of my past clients. As the proverbial “starving artist”, he had worked retail management jobs for the better part of his life until he wanted to make a full-time career out of his “hobby” of painting beautiful structures on canvas. “I want to be a renowned artist like Michelangelo or Picasso,” he said. His satisfaction came from the recognition of his artwork. By the time he completed my one-on-one intuitive coaching program, he had discovered his niche. He was ready to take his ability to the next level, but it was not nearly what he thought it would be. Let’s call him Mr. Smith… Mr. Smith decided to take night classes to finish his degree in the arts and became a teacher where he now teaches architecture and landscaping. Not only is he recognized for the great work that he does with these young adults in the community, he also gets to show others how to facilitate their own gifts to create their own useful works of art.
Of course, Mr. Smith is just one case. There are countless others, who have turned one, two or even numerous gifts into something useful, joyful and gratifying in their lives. Like Mr. Smith, they possess a unique niche but have neither discovered their gifts, nor have they sought other avenues to further their prospects with those gifts. Sometimes individuals become so focused on an idea that they do not see other paths they can take to fulfill their life dreams. This also applies to acquiring things and even people in your lives. Maybe you are trying to get the house you always wanted but it’s just not happening fast enough for you. It seems like everything is working against you to finally settle into your new abode. Or perhaps you are like Elliot Richards in the film “Bedazzled” (played by Brendan Fraser). You are trying so hard to get the love of your life that you lose sight of what might just be right around the corner for you. From this moment on, I do not want you to focus so much on trying to get everything at once, or just get one thing – rather, I want you to say to yourself: “Everything is as it should be.” Remember, all things happen in life to help us to grow emotionally, mentally, spiritually and even professionally. When you learn to let go and let God, or simply allow the flow of the Universal Energy to guide your life, you unexpectedly will discover the niche you were intended to use and how to use it to fulfill your life’s purpose. J

Raising the Bar on Life

Did you ever play the game, limbo? The object of the game is to be able to walk beneath a stick or bar until you can no longer do it or you fall to the ground. Sometimes life can feel like that. You feel like you are stretching yourself so thin that if you get down any further, you are going to lose your footing. Sometimes, when you do fall down, it feels like you can’t pick yourself up off the ground. Guess what? The truth is, you can pick yourself up. Just like limbo – you can dust yourself off and try again.
Once you have hit the bottom, it may seem difficult to pull yourself up at the bootstraps. Especially if you feel like you have had the wind knocked out of you. The good news is that once you have gotten to that point, there is only one way and that is up. Sometimes, you have to raise the bar so that you can overcome whatever life throws your way. When you rise to the challenge and move past the situation or event, you find that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
What challenges are holding you back right now? Is it a difficult supervisor? Maybe you really want to earn that higher position at work… or maybe you just want to lead a simpler life. If you continue putting constraints on yourself because you have lost your footing in the past, then it is time to step up your a-game and raise the bar so that you can create and manifest exactly what it is you want in life.
Stop playing the “I can’t do it” card. We have all been in a position where things have not gone our way. Most times, we brush off our pants and keep on moving, even if it pains us to do so. You must move beyond the bar or raise it to get what you want. “Can’t” is not an option. “Won’t” is not an option. “Failure” is not an option. If you say it enough, you will believe it. When you really believe in yourself, nothing is impossible. Nothing.
