A season of warmth and Miracles

Posted by Intuition Girl

Everywhere you look, Mother Earth is warming the soil as we experience the freedom of the season. Summertime allows each one of us to relax a little more as we breathe in the sweetness of our balmy weather; the richness of the soil, the tender blossoms, and the bright green leaves that exhibit a beautiful display for the entire world to see. Have you taken the time to really look at nature lately and appreciate this season? Renowned poet, Albert Laighton once said, “Where man sees but withered leaves, God sees sweet flowers growing.” There is much truth in this statement; as all too often we walk along life’s highway dwelling on the low points and not enough of the highpoints. You see, summer is God’s way of awakening our eyes to the miraculous wonder of life.

Laighton was a man of great observation, he was able to see beyond the withered leaves and know that they have great potential while most of us only see the dead vegetation and look no further. We fill our lives with withering thoughts and fail to cultivate our ideas and nurture our heart’s desires. That’s how many of us tend to view our lives these days. For some of us, it takes too much time and effort to focus on what could be. We reject good and wholesome advice and choose to say—I know better than the wise men of the world.

We spend many an hour worrying about what was lost, or the cost of mistakes; and by the time we’ve spent all these precious moments on past issues, we have regrettably lost the opportunity that was there all along.

Are you forsaking your prosperity because you can’t see the flowers from the dead leaves? Let go of the old and withered patterns of your life. Each season has its beauty and affords us the opportunity to enjoy and partake in its abundance. However while we are in the season of summer, make it a time for miracles. Open up your heart and mind and allow the beautiful fruits of this season to enter your life. Don’t let a hardened heart prevent you from embracing new possibilities, and a chance for a positive life transformation. Even the flowers get a second chance every year to be the brightest and most colorful of the garden bouquet. God doesn’t view your “withered” ways; he wants you to be the best that you can be as well. That is my message to you – laugh, have fun, do something that brings a smile to your face.

We are all God’s children, and like the flowers of summer, he wants you to grow, flourish and feel the soft breeze across your face of his touch. Perhaps this is why we have four seasons in the year; each one offers us the opportunity to seek out the miracles that await us all.

Season of Giving

Every year around the holidays, a transformation takes place at the local retailers and grocery stores. As you walk down the aisles, Christmas carols echo (through the sound system) and shoppers are bundled up in their winter attire. Sometimes, even cashiers get into the holiday spirit, dawning their red and white St. Nicholas caps. In some stores, you might see the lit Menorah or the colors of Kwanzaa.

American author, H. Jackson Brown, Jr. once said, “Love is when the other person’s happiness is more important than your own.” I believe that is true during the season of giving. We often go overboard, spending more than we normally do to buy the perfect gift. It is during this time when stores hold fierce competitive sales to attract customers; sometimes offering buy one-get one free specials or generous half-off sales. Of course the early bird sales promise rock-bottom deals. While holiday sales are relatively wallet-pleasing, you discover that the season of goodwill and giving go right out the window when customers have camped out all night to get inside for the early bird offers. Last year, for example, a store employee was trampled to death. In some instances, you hear how fights have broken out among random customers over a child’s toy. What on earth possesses people, in their desire to please others, to go to such extremes?

Brown understood that the love for others is a selfless act of generosity. How do we then, as human beings, behave like we have no sense in our quest to impress? The truth of the matter is that the holidays bring out the best and worst in people. While you may truly want to make your significant others happy, one must ask the question, “What is the reason for the season?” It is easy to get caught up in the spirit of things. But you must determine if you are acting selflessly or selfishly.

What makes the holiday season so extraordinary is that there is, whether a believer or not, a mystical and magical feeling of love in the air. Friends are friendlier, children are extra well-behaved, and neighbors are more neighborly. When you have a special someone in your life, you do everything in your power to make that special person (or people) happy. Now imagine if you could take that same feeling of love and generosity and apply it in your daily living? When you give yourself, selflessly, you don’t lose your wits because someone beats you to the head of the line. Instead, you are too eager to help those around you and you don’t think about who gets what first. The season of giving is a humbling yet gratifying feeling. Give 100 percent of yourself 100 percent of the time and you will find that more positive things will come back to you. This is just one way the Universe thanks you for being so giving and warm. During this holiday season, I want you to focus on the brilliant light inside you. Concentrate on the beauty and love in which you were created. Translate this beauty and love into the compassionate and caring person you are intended to be. When you do, a whole new world of opportunity will be opened by you and for you.

You are Perfect in Every Way

Everywhere you look these days there is a “quick fix” or some “magical cure” to mend what ails you… even for things you may not even realize you have. The latest novelty on the market promises longer, thicker, darker eyelashes for a “subset of women with inadequate or not enough lashes”. Of course men’s hair, rather lack thereof, is a financial windfall for marketers annually as well. But if you really listen to these and so many similar commercials, you find that the terminology and “implied” terminology is always geared toward the tearing down of the person. Words and phrases like: inadequate, not enough, aging, feelings of inadequacy, feelings of lack, loss of youthfulness, loss of vitality, loss of stamina, loss of strength, loss of tenacity, loss of vibrancy, and loss of beauty, among others, can be the beginning of the decline of your field of personal perception.

Not only do we have to contend with Internet, radio and television commercials, we also walk into retail stores where there are super-skinny, stick-figure mannequins displaying the latest fashions. But when you try the outfit on, it looks nowhere as good as it did on the store dummy. Now you go searching for the latest green-tea supplement to help shed the extra pounds so you can look as good as the plastic doll. How did we get to this point? We now compete with store window mannequins? Really?

When you have so many channels tearing you down day in and day out, it is no wonder you sometimes feel like you are less than whole, less than adequate. This is why it is so important that you learn how to tune into the right channels, and tune out the negative ones so that they do not influence you to the degree that they break you down and make you feel like less than a person.

Remember this, you are created perfectly in every way – from the moment of your conception, your life was laid before you. It was mapped out from the soles of your feet to the very last threads of the hair on your head (or not). Each cell, each muscle, each living, thriving, vibrant organ in your body is unique to you alone. Each serves a purpose for you to be the best at who you are today and in the future. It is not for the radio or television or any external influence to tell you who you are. That role is yours alone. You are who you are because you are born in the image and likeness of your Creator, your God or whatever name you give to the Creator of all that is. You come from perfection, the Divine and therefore, you also are part of that energy. No living being can take that away from you—only you can relinquish your power by giving it away.

Until we speak again, I am

…write to me and escape!

Well, I am sure Rupert Holmes had a fun time writing that song (“Escape”); but what do you fantasize about in your own life? Where does your mind drift to “escape”? How do you de-stress your daily life?

Some of you may feel so overwhelmed at day’s end that you are ready to find a cave and hide in it. But that does not really de-stress your life. That just makes you feel an even greater sense of urgency to run away from it. So what do you do to really escape the boredom, the monotony or the challenges of your life?

Sometimes, the best way to combat challenges and trials is not to run away from them, but rather to face them head on. You can do this each morning by preparing yourself for whatever comes your way. You do this by planting the appropriate seeds in your mind to make the best of any situation. What are the seeds that have been planted in your mind, in your heart that need to be watered by you so they don’t dry up and rot? If you have a goal that you have wanted to achieve, do you simply allow your thoughts to evaporate into thin air? You must believe in new possibilities from the moment that you awake until the time you go to sleep at night. Yet to take this a step further—even in your sleep you must believe in all your possibilities –in other words, it is 24/7.

Manifesting Inner Peace

In order for you to actually materialize your dreams, you have to dream big and nurture those dreams day in and day out. When you do, you enhance your potentiality in everything that you encounter. The other part of that equation is that you must always practice patience. Rome was not built in a day. It will not only take persistence, but it will also take personal discipline to awaken yourself to the inspiration and motivation that you need to acquire for your personal “escape” and the sacredness in everyday living.

If you feel like you must run away from your problems, immerse yourself in the things that you find most joyful – whether that is playing the guitar, sculpting, writing or just being in nature, it is through these actions that we find solace and countenance to appreciate the beauty and profoundness of our Inner Self. This in turn, leads to the pathway of an “escape” and more importantly, to real resolve.
