3 Tips to Achieving Inner Peace & Personal Growth

Posted by Intuition Girl

childthinkingWho say’s you can’t have it all? When you take the time to realize your human potential, you can truly manifest happiness and prosperity in all areas of your life – and that, my friends, is how you discover inner peace. But in order to achieve inner peace in your life, you must first transform your way of thinking to begin the spiritual growth and personal growth process. Don’t know how to do this?  Follow these three, simple tips to achieving inner peace and you may just be surprised at the outcome you provide for yourself:

1.    Balance. Life is a delicate balancing act.  If you lean too far to the right or left, you may fall.  But if you use the right measurement of balance, you discover that you are capable of just about anything. How do you get yourself back into balance?  The first important step is to figure out which goals are most important in your life.  You can only achieve inner peace when your mind is not scattered everywhere. Focus on one or two goals you’d like to manifest in your life.  I’m not saying you should throw away all your other goals, but you need to take baby steps before you can walk…remember the balancing act? It’s a lot easier to perform one or two tasks at a time to get the ball rolling in the right direction.  After each level of accomplishment, you gain more momentum to keep moving higher up the goal chart.  It’s all a matter of tenacity — which leads me to the next point:

Bringing joy in these difficult times

Posted by Intuition Girl

Dear Joan Marie:

I love your newsletter and the messages you share.  I was wondering if there was something that we all could do during these difficult times to bring joy to someone else

I hope you think this question worthy to be answered

Pia Jenkins, Florida

Answer

Dear Pia:

I would like to share with you a beautiful story which I hope will answer your question and give some food for thought to all those who read this newsletter.

There’s a story someone once told about a lonely and impoverished woman, who had given up all hope. She had lost her will to take care of herself, her home and even reason to awaken in the mornings. One day, a traveling flower salesman arrived at her now-decrepit home. After knocking several times, the woman finally came to the door and cracked it ajar. Peering back through the crack, the salesman could see the robed woman with uncombed hair. With a big smile, he asked her, “Would you like to buy some flowers?” The woman sternly replied, “I do not have any money for flowers; please go away.”

The salesman, being a kind and gentle soul responded, “That’s okay,” he reached down in his backpack of flowers, and retrieved one long-stemmed, red-velvet rose. Handing it to her, he said, “Here, you may have this rose.”

The woman brushed her bangs from her eyes and straightened her robe. Hesitantly, she opened her door a little more and said, “But I don’t have any money.”

“That’s okay,” said the kind salesman, “you may have this rose for free.”

Standing a little taller now, the woman took the rose from the man. Thanking him for his kindness, the salesman made his way down the road. The woman watched as the man vanished into the distance, and she closed the door behind her.

Now, peering at the rose, she could not believe the rich and vibrant red of its petals. “This is the loveliest rose I have ever seen,” she said aloud to herself. Then she glanced around her messy kitchen to locate a glass vase. Seeing one beneath the pile of dirtied dishes in the sink, she gently laid the rose atop an empty space on the counter and began washing the dishes and the vase until the entire sink was clear. The woman then took the rose and placed its long stem inside the vase and filled it with water. As she turned behind, she saw that her entire kitchen table was cluttered with papers, trash and other what-knots. “This simply will not do,” she said. She quickly began clearing the mess and putting all the trash in the waste bin. Wiping the table from all of its dust, she retrieved a checkered tablecloth from her linen closet. But when she placed the tablecloth on the table, it was wrinkled and didn’t look very appealing. The woman then ironed the cloth and draped it over her table, “Now, that’s better,” she said, standing back to get a second look. The woman walked to her countertop and retrieved the rose. She carefully placed the vase in the center of her kitchen table. It was absolutely beautiful.

As she admired the rose, she caught a glimpse of her disheveled appearance in the hall mirror. She immediately cleaned herself up, brushed her hair and put on a nice summer outfit. She felt more alive than she had ever felt in a very long time.

The moral of this story is that everywhere you go, you should attempt to be that rose. When you become the rose in your life, and in the lives of others, amazing and positive things happen all around you. Suddenly, your life is more fulfilled; your heart is lighter; and happiness is what you make it. Be a rose – and the world will become your garden.

Get your life back on track

Posted by Intuition Girl

Dear Joan Marie…I need help!

Life is so depressing and I don’t know how to get back on track. I want to have opportunities come my way but I even lost the incentive to keep trying. Everywhere I look, I see and hear all the depressing stories and it sets me further into worry and fear.

Am I the only one feeling this way. I need help.

Franklin J. of Virginia

Answer

Dear Franklin:

There are many things I can say to you to help you pull our of the doldrums and get back on track. But one of the first things you need to do is STOP listening to the news or negative people and start filling your mind ONLY with positive thoughts.

You can even rent some funny movies and/or happy movies that will help you fill with laughter and joy.

Too many of us fail to realize that being surrounded with negative thoughts, negative people and negative happenings produces negative results. That is why it is very important for you and actually all of us, to make sure that happy and positive experiences are in our lives daily.

Yes we live in this world and yes we need to be informed but there is a huge difference between having an overview of what is happening around you and participating in the scene.

This is the time for us to be the observers of life not the participants. The news media has lost its moral vision and settled on filling the hours with all the pain and suffering that is around us.

Even in California where I have been, when the fires broke out in Santa Barbara, at least 6 stations focused the greater majority of their time on the scenes from the fires. Please understand, I am sympathetic to the situation and the destruction of all the lives, land and environment but I refuse to be part and party to the movie. I cannot do that because if I do, I will lose my focus and become subject to all the pitfalls that you and others are falling into at this time.

My job is to pray for the unfortunate and ask the Universe to send them courage and strength. I do not have the power to help them but I do have the ability to hold the light and send messages of love and peace.

I actually can go on and on with this topic. Franklin, I encourage you to read and re-read my current and past newsletters and make sure you also read the Monday Morning Inspirational Messages. This is what you need to focus on and fill yourself with as you gain strength and courage. Yes the times have been difficult for some, but remember many others are getting creative as they are seeking new opportunities.

Remember, If you continue to think in a negative way, you will ONLY produce negative results. If you continue to follow the path that you are on, I guarantee that you won’t have any opportunities. By thinking negatively, you are blocking the Universal Flow of Energy and disrupting the natural pattern of positive vibrational flow.

It does take work and effort to discipline your mind and body but the rewards are awesome. Please think about my words and begin today to take some positive action.

I wish you many blessings, Joan Marie the gift.

Do what You Love so You can Love what You do

Posted by Intuition Girl

findingrightdirectionThere are often times in our lives when we reflect on all the things we “could have done” or “should have done” because there’s an emptiness that we begin to harbor when we’re not in the career or line of work we’d choose to be.  Easier said than done, eh?  Well, that really depends on how badly you want to create the life you’d like to lead.  We do, after all, only have one life experience at a time, and if we’re not doing what we love, we can’t possibly realize the love that is all around us.

We must do what we love so we can love what we do.  Even if you’re in an occupation that you really don’t wish to be, you have to find the bright side of the situation so you can find the enjoyment in it.  Do what?  Yes, even in the best and brightest professions, there will be circumstances that may make one feel inadequate or frustrated – that’s perfectly normal in any career.  The difference between many of these professions is that individuals have learned how to “go with the flow” of the experience, learn from it, and move on – that’s acceptance.

“But I hate this job,” you say? What is it about the job you dislike?  Is it the workload?  Is it your relationship with coworkers?  Is it lacking personal satisfaction?  Insufficient pay?  If every grave digger, sanitation worker, short-order cook, doctor, nurse, law enforcement officer, and cab driver decided that they just weren’t “satisfied” with their work, imagine where we might be.  Certainly these valuable members of society have their ups and downs in their careers, but they find the joy in providing essential services to others.  Even when their days aren’t perfect, they manage to see the light at the end of the tunnel by reflecting on what they are doing for others.

Did you know that even the slightest interaction you have with others could make a life-changing impact in that individual’s life?  It’s true.  And did you also know that when you find love in what you do, your job becomes an easier task to perform, and you begin receiving blessings that before may have not been as transparent. When we work in love in spite of the doldrums that we sometimes encounter, we discover new opportunities that suddenly transform right before our eyes.  It’s not magic, though.  It’s a simple calculation of creating and designing the lives that we want to live by leading each day with a renewed sense of hope, a renewed zest for life, and a renewed sense of self pride and worth.  Surprise yourself when you work in love, and rediscover the passion that will drive you to prosperity.

Feel your value and self-worth

Posted by Intuition Girl

Dear Joan Marie:

I have always thought that I was a good, reliable and productive person but these days I am feeling that my self-worth and self-esteem are weakening.  How can I strengthen me so that once again I can be and feel my value and self-worth?

Erica Watson.

Answer:

Dear Erica:

To many of us equate our value and worth with money.  When we have money in our pocket we feel valued and worthy, when we lack abundance we feel less than.  Unfortunately, our personal self-worth and value stems from the inside out and not the other way around.

Try these exercises—

1.  Every day focus on one thing that brings you joy.  Allow that experience, situation or what ever it may be to fill your core and feel the smile that begins to reveal itself come from the inside out.

2.  Every day think of five things for which you are blessed and express your gratitude.  I do this exercise daily and it helps remind me that indeed, I am grateful for my health, for the food that I can eat and enjoy, for the inviting and cozy roof over my head, for my great car and how it provides me with safe transportation and for my family and friends.  We all have a lot to be thankful for in our lives if we would only take the time to think about it.  Money isn’t everything!  Be proud and happy for all that you have accomplished and invite inner peace and calm to penetrate you entire life.

Many blessings,
