Pride and Joy has two faces

Posted by Intuition Girl

Ironic how we may have all heard that phrase, “pride and joy”; and in some cases employed it ourselves (in reference to something or someone we love and revere). The challenge in having that pride and joy, is it can sometimes get in the way of our own success. We become so attached to a thing, a person or some event in our lives that we do not see any other new opportunities or pathways to progress to the next level.

Pride often begets complacency, which idles our movement. Now, I am not saying you should not have any pride or joy in life. In fact, I encourage you to be proud of who you are and have joy in those things that bring you happiness. What I am also telling you is the recommended dose of anything is always moderation. Remember, just like all things in life, too much of even a good thing is extreme, and can lead to negative consequences. The same holds true for those of you who might say, “I cannot live without so-and-so…” Fact is, if you are living for someone or something else, you are not living for yourself – and that is what you are missing.

Excessive pride can sometimes confine you. Too often, you can get caught up in the whole, “I can’t do this because I may lose this or that,” or “I can’t move there because I will be away from _____________fill in the blank.” There are opportunities in life that beg you to take full advantage, but because you are so focused on someone else or something else, you become paralyzed in the “what if’s” and the “I cant’s”. Do not become that person. Do not rehash all the things that you could potentially “lose” or all the things that may or may not be. Remember, you cannot control external circumstances, but you have the power to choose your destiny. Are you up for the challenge?

Despite what you have been brought up to think or believe, you are still the leader of your life. You have the choice and the power to decide your outcome. If you are holding yourself back because of an overwhelming sense of pride, you need to rethink your actions and behavior. Pride can be like a powerful drug. Once you are addicted to that feeling associated with a person, place or thing, you can easily miss open doors to new and positive opportunities. Do not get caught up in your own web of feelings.

How to get there…

If you are proud of your accomplishments and you enjoy your life just the way it is, then perhaps this message is not for you. But if you are stuck in a repetitive lifestyle and you seem to be going backward or in circles, then heed this: Open your eyes and open your mind. Raise your awareness through meditation or prayer so that you can begin to see the potentiality that exists around you. Know that pride can be an awesome feeling, but it takes a humbling experience to truly see the possibilities that surround you.

Commitments: 5 reasons they are important to you

Posted by Intuition Girl

Have you ever overextended yourself by making promises you could not keep? Or maybe you have decided to no longer volunteer because you were unable to follow through on your commitments. If this sounds familiar to you, then you must realize that you cannot continue on this path. When others start seeing that you are not capable of following through on your commitments, it puts you in a precarious position. Now not only are you kicking yourself for not achieving certain tasks or goals you’ve set for yourself, others will begin to wonder if you are really serious enough to keep and follow through on anything.

Here are five reasons why commitments are important to you:

1. Honor Thyself

If you make a commitment – whether it is to yourself or to another, honor yourself by carrying out what it is you have promised. This behavior will only lead to greater promise for yourself and your life. The more you accomplish, the better you feel about yourself and ultimately, the closer you become to fulfilling your own destiny.

2. Get Satisfaction

Think back to a time when you were a little boy or girl. Do you ever recall wanting to climb to the top of the monkey bars or perhaps it was acing your math test or possibly it was just learning how to skip rope? Once you accomplished it, you automatically felt a great sense of satisfaction and self-pride. It is the same thing with commitments. When you keep them and you accomplish them, you feel a great sense of pride and self worth.

3. Show ‘em what you got!

Demonstrating your ability to follow through on commitments does more than just honor and satisfy you, it shows others your dedication and willingness to go the extra mile. In essence, it reinforces your value. It gives those around you the motivation to do more themselves, and it demonstrates to higher ups how accountable and trustworthy you are.

4. Thanks for the Memories

The nice part about accomplishing the tasks you set out to do is that when you reflect on your life, you can sit back and know that some of your most priceless memories are those you created yourself. In all honesty, who wants to be known as the person who never finished the job? It’s a positive feeling being able to look back and know that you kept your commitments and put your life on track to success.

5. Success!

Most importantly, sticking to and completing your obligations will lead you to success. Some tasks may be more challenging than others, but when you set your mind to reaching the end goal, you discover that all the sweat, blood and tears were worth the effort. Yes, anything is possible when you realize the essential role you play in making good on the commitments you made to yourself and to those around you. Why not choose to stick to your commitments? Choose success because it is your greatest joy!

A Country where anything is possible

Posted by Intuition Girl

Are you up to the challenge?

Hello Friends,

As I was listening to President Obama’s speech last night he spoke on the importance of innovation and that this is what is needed in order to help our country grow.

If you are one of the hundreds of people that not only want to make a difference in this world but also desire to create a better income to support yourself and possibly your family, how do you expect to accomplish this?

He went on to share the importance of education and that it is time to raise our standards to benefit us individually and collectively, the people of this Country.  We must set a tone and come from a place of power in order to help shape our world.  Do you know how?

The message that our President is sharing is that America is a Country where anything is possible no matter where you have come from and no matter where you are right now!

Do you believe you can be someone that can help shape our country? How about creating and/ or growing your own business so you can employ people or help more people.

It is time for us to get creative?

He used an example of a 55 year old women who decided to go back to school to become a bio-chemist when he said: “Ordinary people who dare to dream and have an extraordinary future”- Do you believe he is speaking to you …because you too, can choose to do great things and be extraordinary?

The President closed with – “Our destiny remains our choice”….  So I ask you: “What do you choose”?

When will my opportunity occur

Posted by Intuition Girl

Dear Joan Marie,

I have seen my “Dream Job”, but this is not a position you can train/plan for…It will be obtained thru networking and Divine timing.

imagination I am continually preparing myself/my life, so I will be ready when the breakthrough come and opens the door of opportunity. I will walk thru with grace, confidence, and pride. My question is…When/where will this opportunity occur?

Any insight you can give me is most graciously appreciated. I have been working for years developing my intuition, the gift GOD has given to all. May GOD bless you with happiness, good health, and prosperity all the days of your life…….
Most Respectfully,

Marilyn from Texas

ANSWER

Dear Marilyn:

You are truly blessed to have “seen” a vision of your destiny.  Please do not stop there!  It is your job to clear away any and all debris from the past and prepare to create the space for internal energy to open your heart to receive.  The timing is always that of the Divine and it will happen when you are truly ready.  You must feel it and own it internally and begin creating your life now—in the present moment.  Think and visualize that you have arrived at your destination.  Do not wait!   Begin today implementing and creating what you can so that you are prepared to fulfill your destiny.

Many Blessings,
Joan Marie the gift Intuition girl
