What actions have you determined are necessities in your life to keep you on track? If you’re pining for the straight and narrow path to success, then you must know that in order to achieve the affluence you so desire, you must love yourself first and be consistent in every one of your efforts. A few questions you must ask yourself are:

1. What is it that I really want in life?
2. How am I going to acquire these wants?
3. How much passion am I going to put behind my goals?
4. What steps do I need to take in order to achieve these goals?
5. How much time am I willing to take to get the things I want?

After you’ve considered these questions, I want you to take out a pen and paper, your laptop keyboard, or whatever else you have at your disposal and begin to jot down ideas and thoughts resolving these questions.

Sometimes, we have to make small sacrifices to create a clear passage to the lives we want to lead. While we might like owning that high-maintenance SUV; the payments might be killing us financially. Or, we’ve put several years’ time into a work position only to stay in the same spot. Are you staying in a negative personal relationship because you’ve become accustomed to arguing? Have you seen the writing on the wall?  That doesn’t mean you should allow your vehicle to get repossessed, that you should walk out of your relationship, or just outright quit your job because you’re not going anywhere. What it does mean is that you need to re-evaluate your state of affairs, and start using the tools that are available to you to make the best out of a lagging or negative situation. You are, after all, in control of your emotions and your actions. And if you are not—Why not? You cannot control the people around you. But you can control yourself…or better said, you can become the leader of your life—if that is your choice!

That being said, you must determine the necessary actions and efforts to keep your life on track. For example, if you are in a “terrible job”, you need to ask yourself if it is in fact the job that is terrible, or is it the feelings that you associate with the job that give it the appearance of being terrible. When you figure that out, that’s when you can decide what path you need to take in order to acquire a better position…or perhaps, become an entrepreneur in your own field to create real value in your life. The same holds true in relationships – both personal and professional. Relationships, just like working positions, take time, sacrifice, effort, labor, love, and communication skills. What are you doing in your life to heighten your potential and efficacy in creating and sustaining healthy bonds? And this is also spot on with professional relationships – how do you view the work you do? Would you “hire you” again? Would you want “you” working for yourself?  Think about it. Are you creating your own problems at work?

Beyond work and personal relationships, finances (or lack thereof) often take center stage on the emotional baggage train. Do any of these hypothetical statements apply to you?

• “I can’t go to the gym because I can’t afford it.”
• “I can’t take a vacation because I don’t have the money.”
• “I’d love to take you to that restaurant, but it’s too expensive.”
• “How I wish I could buy a house, but times are tough.”
• “How can Jim (or fill in the blank) afford such a nice car?”
• “I’d like to have children, but I can barely afford to pay my own bills.”
• “I’m just not lucky like that other guy.”

More than likely, we’ve all encountered one or more of the above situations.  And when we are honest with ourselves–it’s uncomfortable, too. Especially when someone asks you to accompany him (or her) and you begin concocting lame excuses as to why you can’t go. And envy is even worse. No matter how successful we become in life, someone, somewhere is going to have something bigger, better, and more expensive than you. That’s a fact. But, the good news is that you don’t have to “keep up with the Jones.” You just have to keep up with yourself – that’s it. Every action has an equal reaction. For instance, if you have made the active decision to pursue a higher position at work, what must you do to attain it? If you simply “want” the position, and do nothing to acquire it, then you will remain exactly where you are. Wanting something and doing something for that want are two entirely different means to an end: one is inaction (indecision) and the other is action (decision). How is your supervisor going to know that you want a particular position? She can’t always read your mind. Likewise, if you’ve been performing “just enough” or “not enough” at work, do you really deserve the position?

Do you have what it takes? Yes! Almost every individual has the mental, physical, emotional, and psychological capacity to achieve their hearts’ desires; unfortunately, they don’t always do it because of indecision, inaction, and complacency. We get comfortable in all of our relationships, much like we do in our own tennis shoes. We tend to overlook the holes, the wear and tear, the rips, the shredded laces…because they feel good on our feet. Eventually, our feet get soaked from the mud puddles that we sometimes have to walk through.  Even track stars have to change shoes every now and then to maintain a proper balance and performance. Like it or not, we have to toss the old shoes and buy new ones that fit us and serve us better so that the paths on which we walk will benefit us. Which path do you choose to walk upon? What sacrifices are you willing to make to create forward motion? What choices are you making for you today to promise a wealthy and happy tomorrow?

In its most altruistic form, hope has the powerful force of the Universal flow of energy to move mountains. This is often the case of average, everyday citizens, who desire greatness and rewarding life purpose.

Like the famous milk commercial “it does a body good,” so does hope for the soul. Your soul being, like your physical body, requires spiritual reinforcement and Divine nutrition. However, you have to combine the essential ingredients to create a unique recipe for inner peace, happiness, and prosperity.

What is this recipe for true bliss, you ask? With the aim of emotional growth, you must only look within yourself to discover the truth of your soul being. You know that your life has meaning; but for way too long you have lived in a metaphorical cocoon that has kept you safely away from the hardships of reality. The wall that you have built around your life has only prevented you from realizing your life purpose. So, the first ingredient of your soul destiny recipe is to peel away the emotional scars from the past. Forgive your transgressions and sorrows, and accept the authenticity of the present moment.

You were given the breath of life to achieve greatness. And now is your time to shine. However, you must first allow the powerful light of hope into your life. This is the second ingredient to your recipe for fulfilling life purpose and conveying peace to your soul. Since you have dealt with your emotional traumas, and you have accepted this moment as your turning point in life, you are ready to manifest happiness and inner peace in everyday living. You can now begin your lifestyle makeover by simply inviting hope into every moment of your existence.

Don’t be afraid to ask for guidance from your Divine Source of power. This is the third fundamental ingredient toward gaining inner peace in your life. When you use your soul power to communicate through the Universal flow of energy, hope moves through you and on your behalf. It is a constant source of vital transformation.

Some of the many ways you can get in touch with your Divine Source is by using powerful mind techniques that are easily accessible to you. I personally like meditation because this is a relatively simple regiment you can integrate into your everyday living. Set aside a few minutes in the morning, evening, or right before you go to bed to reflect on the day’s events. Now, let those events break away from your mind. Calm your spirit so your soul can absorb the positive energy that surrounds you. Close your eyes and imagine the sun’s light flowing into your body. With every deep breath you take, I want you to feel the warmth of the sunlight filtering through your skin, your cells, and deep into your soul being. Can you feel that? That’s hope; and the Universal flow of energy transferring the light of positivity in every ounce of your being.

You can arrive at both personal growth and spiritual growth by integrating just some of these powerful soul ingredients into your daily living. It’s not a complicated formula, but it does require patience, persistence, and acceptance to breed the proper atmosphere for meaningful life evolution.

When you have hope, there is nothing that cannot be accomplished in life. Through hope, all things are possible – your soul demands it, your emotions can’t survive without it and even your livelihood needs it to challenge yourself to be the best you can be. You see, hope is that little voice that whispers “you can,” even when you feel you can’t any more. And that is what makes all the difference between an empowered life of happiness and a life of defeat. The choice is yours.

Are you the obstinate procrastinator?

Stubborn in your ways, you’d rather put off until tomorrow what you could be doing today. That reasoning, unfortunately, puts you at odds with your authentic self that is desperately trying to break free from the mental chains you have created for yourself. By staying in a holding pattern of ritualistic behavior, you confine yourself to a box of small thoughts and aspirations. You can only move forward in life and initiate a positive lifestyle makeover when you become the leader of your life.

How do you become the leader of your life?

First, you must do exactly what the title line says to do: Evacuate your present mode of thinking. Toss out all the negative emotions and blockages from the past. Don’t let old and hurtful memories creep into your thoughts. Accept these memories as part of who you are, but do not let them rule your life. As a matter of fact, right now at this very moment, I ask you to look at yourself in the mirror and say aloud: “I own my feelings. My feelings do not possess me. I am in control of my destiny.” This is a productive first step in laying the foundation to create happiness and prosperity in your life.

The next important part of the lifestyle makeover process is to let go and let God. Whatever or whomever your spiritual Source of Divine guidance is, allow that Divine power to guide the direction of your authentic self. While you ultimately control your destiny, you have to allow yourself breathing room to expand your inner wisdom. Take a deep breath and release any negative impulses and reservations. It’s very easy to fall back into a habitual pattern of negative behavior — so be certain to stop, breath, and let go and let God whenever you feel overwhelmed or confused.

What if I run into a crisis situation?

While there are some individuals who excel in crisis situations, there are many folks who fall to emotional pieces. These are the times when you really need to pull yourself together and go deep inside your authentic self to find the strength and inner wisdom to overcome challenges and roadblocks that may come your way. Too many times, these sudden obstacles propel individuals back into negative behavioral patterns. This is why it is so important that you constantly use your God source and the Universal flow of energy to uphold and sustain you.

Expanding your horizons

By now you have a fairly good grasp on the mental and emotional aspects of directing your destiny. At this point, you understand that your authentic self is the keystone to rediscovering the positive light of life that exists inside you. This is an essential thread to the Universal flow of energy that connects all of us to one another. By facilitating this Universal flow of energy, you can achieve the lifestyle makeover that will help you manifest happiness and prosperity.

When you make a pact with yourself to evacuate the negative lifestyle you’ve been leading, you are prepared to pursue the leadership role that you are intended to have. You don’t have to fall back into old habits and negative routines, because your positive lifestyle makeover is what gives you the happiness and prosperity that you’ve always wanted.

It truly boils down to enacting the fundamental elements of your core being — mind, body, and soul. Integrate these powerful resources to create the lifestyle you want to lead and manifest the destiny that will lead to greatness.

Nobody wants to strike out when it’s their turn to bat. That’s why you must challenge yourself to strive to do better, achieve more, and transform your lifestyle. When you review your game plan, you should use your essential tools for living to get a firm grip on your metaphorical batting range. In addition, you have to take an extensive look at how far you are willing to run in order to achieve your heart’s desires.

There are a few key areas in your life on which you have to focus in order to prepare yourself to hit your homerun to success. Following is a powerful guideline to recreate your lifestyle and fulfill your life’s dreams:

Re-define Your Strengths

Many times, we beat ourselves up to the point that we forget the inner strength we possess, and what vital life tools we have at our disposal. You have to retreat within and redefine your frame of mind so you can really get to the root basis of what’s causing you to strike out when you’re on home plate.

You know that you can achieve your goals because you can savor the victory that awaits you. The drawback is that every time you’re up to bat, you get ousted by the umpire because you haven’t been quite able to hit the pitch out of the ballpark. But let’s level the playing field – you already possess the physical stamina to meet life demands; so you know that you are essentially equipped to get where you need to be going. What you must do now is realign your mind, body, and spirit so these vital senses can work together to create an extraordinary lifestyle for yourself.

Some of the inner strengths that individuals have include inner wisdom (or intuition), a blueprint for living, and the mental ability to transform life. The external forces that safeguard our lives are the Universal flow of energy and our God source. Talking in baseball terms in relation to life, the umpire calls the shots with regard to which plays are actually scored. Whether it’s a foul ball, an out, or a homerun, the umpire is the source that lets you know where you stand in the game of life. Let’s suppose that the umpire is the Universal flow of energy. When you’re at a point in your life where you’ve been jolted by your own blunders, it’s because the metaphorical umpire is calling you on them.

As mentioned earlier, when you balance your mind, body, and spirit, and begin working with the Universal flow of energy, you are steps closer to realizing your life dreams.

Go ahead and reward yourself by taking the initiative to get a unique perspective on how to reach your goals. Sometimes, we have to take a step back and view life through a fresh pair of eyes and at a new angle. Next, let’s review your blueprint for living. Within the soul being of each one of us, exists an in-depth map to fulfilling life purpose. When you look beyond your physical capabilities, trends, and hurdles; you need to ask your higher self what steps are necessary to achieve success. A growing number of people use meditation, which is a powerful mind tool toward channeling inner wisdom for greater purpose. Your God source is also a fundamental supply that can lend support to you in your efforts. That’s why a lot of individuals frequently turn to prayer for guidance, direction, and insight. By facilitating these intuitive mental tools, you are well on your way toward hitting a homerun and receiving life’s blessings.

Become the Leader of your Life

Okay, you’ve made it to home plate again and you’re ready to take charge of your life. Like every clever team player, you pay attention to the signals that the pitcher (or your God source) is sending. Also in consideration are the elements of your environment – the stadium, the crowd, the score, the turf, and who’s on base. Again, you have to level the playing field to your best advantage. You know the pros of the situation, and you’ve considered all your options. Do you walk the ball, take a pitch hit, or do you knock it out of the ball park? Remember, you are the leader of your life and the leader of your destiny – what you do with your tools for success is equally as essential as fulfilling your life destiny. At this point, you have to make a strategic plan to counterbalance any negative aspects. Think, plan, and keep your eye on the ball. Whatever you do, always focus on your goals. When you decide that you are in control of your life and you are ready to manifest success, not only will you score one for the team, but victory will follow you wherever you go.

To achieve spiritual growth, one must begin to think and truly feel with an absolutely uninhibited mind and spirit. Within the core of our being, there is a wild mustang, a free spirit wanting to desperately break free from the mental fences we’ve built around ourselves; it’s in a way, the safety net that our mind has created for us to shelter us from harmful situations. However, that wild mustang, free spirit is your authentic self; and whether you choose to follow it or not, your authentic self wants to be released from your mental and emotional grips…and it will work fervently towards that end whether you want it to or not. This is your soul’s way of making you stop dead in your tracks and causing you to spring into action. Why? The primary reason your soul speaks to you is to give you the appropriate clues to achieve and maintain balance in all aspects of your life – mind, body, and spirit. It truly wants you to grow spiritually so you are readied to receive the blessings that the Universal flow of energy wants you to have, that is, living in complete balance.

To help you understand more fully, I am sharing with you the following five important paths to spiritual growth. When you become aware of the paths that we often follow, you are better prepared to walk them with clarity and positive intent.

* Spiritual growth during hardship. In turbulent times in our lives, we often find that we must turn to a Higher Source of wisdom for comfort, guidance, and reason. While we may not always like the feeling of distress, it is in these times that we attain some of the highest levels of spiritual growth. It is also in these times, that we become closer to God, our Creator. This will enable us to express a deep and profound connection with our Source and a sense of oneness with the world around us.

* Spiritual growth in relationships. When we enter into a marriage, partnership, or experience the joy of a new addition to the family – we often discover the spiritual element of life here as well. Feelings of deep love and admiration fill our hearts and souls with an overflowing abundance. And as we all know, love is a deeply spiritual emotion that can only flourish and grow. When we willingly share our love and compassion with others, we actually strengthen our own resources.

* Spiritual growth in work. In work? Really? Yes, when we put 110 percent into our work efforts, we may not always be recognized for our productivity; but we know in our hearts that we have accomplished something, and we have succeeded in doing our part toward creating a finished product or beneficial outcome — and that makes all the difference in how we perceive life. What we give out we get back 110 percent.

* Spiritual growth during travel. Have you ever taken time to observe the world around you? Whether you’ve seen the marvels of Mount Rushmore, the Grand Canyon, the grand strand, or the rolling hills of Appalachia, you’ve touched the face of God. Spirituality is everywhere you look if only you seek it. I look in awe at the beauty of nature all around me and how it never fails to bring a sense of great joy and inner peace into my heart.

* Spiritual growth in death. As harsh as this may seem, death is the final passage to the Highest Realm of peace. When we experience the passing of a loved one, we go through several stages of grief and the mourning process. When we have reached the final stage of acceptance, it is then that we have grown spiritually. We have learned that while we may not always be able to physically see our loved ones, they will always reside in our hearts and memories forever. Spiritual growth comes when we understand that this eternal flame of love can never be extinguished.

As the tides of the many seasons come and go, we learn that from spiritual growth, comes a new dawning of a deep and spiritual recognition and awareness of life, love, and sense of purpose. Remember, the wild mustang, the free spirit in you – your authentic self, is ready to be released from your everyday confines. All you must do is ask for spiritual guidance and the Universal flow of energy will give you the soul power and tools to discover how you can truly enjoy what your life destiny is and will be.

What is all this talk about “inner wisdom,” you say? For starters, inner wisdom (or higher consciousness) is not all just about talk. As a matter of fact, inner wisdom is more of a gut feeling or intuitive inclination to guide you along in life. There really is no “right” or “wrong” approach to following your inner wisdom — you simply do. When something deep inside of you compels you to take action or to redirect your energy – that’s inner wisdom.

Because we are all part of the Universal flow of energy, and energy is an integral component to our guiding force, we must learn to rely on learned experiences and actions so that we can proficiently organize our lifestyles and recreate the life we want to lead.

One can be intelligent, but ignorant at the same time. How so? Knowledge is indeed power, but imagine the unlimited possibilities that you could have if you coupled your knowledge with inner wisdom. The life force, which resides in you, is your intuitive soul — your metaphorical watchtower. It keeps you in sync with the flow of Universal energy and prompts you to realize your potential and your dreams. The good news is that you can use your inner wisdom to organize and get your life back on track — and that’s the most exciting part about putting your life in order — you need only add the essential element of your higher consciousness and suddenly, you see the world through a new pair of eyes; your mind is sharper; your voice and body constitution stronger; your spirit sours, and the journey ahead is crystal clear.

Weed your life garden daily. Every morning, take a look at your reflection in the mirror and tell yourself: “Today is going to be a happy day.” When you plant the mental seed of happiness in your life, you begin seeing more clearly, and more productively. Weed away the negative thought patterns from your mind, and release any other blockages that may hinder your personal growth or spiritual growth. This takes dedication and perseverance; but over time, your life garden will develop into a beautiful, growing Eden.
